RAW Perspective is a project I created for the specialisation Brands & Innovation at the Amsterdam Fashion Institiute (AMFI). The specialisation focusses on imaganing the future for fashion brands. In this assigment I created a future fashion concept for G-star RAW.
Future Scenario:
In 2024 we life in a society where we are all equal. However when equality dominates it becomes impossible to show individuality and uniqueness through physical appearance. As all human beings strive to be different, the society of 2024 is forced to find new ways to express individuality.
In 2024 individuality is no longer defined by ‘what you own’ or ‘what you wear’ but by your personality. Overtime new information and experiences allow us to redefine who we are, making our personality a living entity that grows and evolves. Therefore in 2024 the demand of clothing that can match personal evovlement becomes greater than ever before.
The concept:
‘RAW Perspective’ introduces a range of self-growing bacterial made garments that translate personality into the physical appearance of clothing.
Overtime the living organism (bacteria) that composes the denim fabric react on the environment and the wearer, radically changing the look of the garment. This results in clothing that evolves with its user and ultimately visualises the uniqueness of the individual through physical appearance.
